ABOUT CJFIT COACHING

From grungy garage gym sessions & excel spreedsheets to boutique private studio & own app for Online Coaching

CJFIT Coaching began with an idea and fervent passion for health and fitness. From a humble beginning with rusted weights and old machines in my neighbour’s garage, we have grown dramatically. Presently, we operate our boutique personal training session out of our private studio located in Elwood and host our comprehensive Online Coaching through our own personal app. With our strong passion we have grown by constantly investing back into our service to provide clients with the best possible experience, results, and enjoyment. We believe that our business is only as strong as our clients results and enjoyment, with that in mind, we take great pride in providing you with all the tools, resources and guidance to elevate your performance and your life. At CJFIT Coaching, we are committed to providing the highest level of service and support, and we are constantly striving to improve and innovate to stay ahead of the curve.

ABOUT ME

From Finance Nerd to Fitness Fanatic

THE MOST UNLIKELY COACH OR PERSONAL TRAINER

Previous to starting CJFIT Coaching, I spent the last 5 years of my life studying a Bachelor of Commerce (Economics & Finance) and working at a boutique financial advisory business in Melbourne. It looked good on my Linkedin, pleased my parents and their friends and was praised for the high calibre white collar work I was doing.

Funnily enough, I didn’t mind working in Finance… I have always liked numbers and have always done my own research for investing in the stock market. In addition to this, I knew that I would always have time before or after work for my own workouts, cardio, meal prep and journaling. And hey that 4 weeks of annual leave, 10 day sick leave and countless public holidays meant that I would have time for the things I love and enjoy (travel, relaxing, days trip on my motorbike).

BUT IT WASN’T MY “IKIGAI”

IKIGAI is a Japanese word that means “reason of being”. In my interpretation, I believe this to be that thing that wakes me up every morning, excited for a new day. The thing that makes me want to be a better and more knowledgeable individual. The thing that makes me live righteously, not wanting to snake or deceived anyone. And most importantly, that thing that gives me purpose in my life translating to long term happiness and fulfilment…even when times get tough.

IKIGAI extends even further. As it says, your IKIGAI lies within the intersection of the follow four things.

  • What you love

  • What you’re good at

  • What you can be paid for

  • What the world needs

This is why I believe I found my IKIGAI. I left a job I LIKED to do what I really LOVE. I left a job that I was OKAY at, to now be working in an area where I am THRIVING and have the desire to always IMPROVE my skillset. I can still be PAID for my work, but now I am in more control of MY EARNINGS POTENTIAL. Lastly, whilst the world needs FINANCIAL SERVICES EMPLOYEES, I also believe that the world NEEDS COACHES & TRAINERS who can provide services that are LIFE CHANGING, BOTH MENTALLY & PHYSICALLY. I often find myself telling my clients, you can have all the money and designer clothes in the world… but you ain’t shit if you don’t have your health & happiness.

WHY AM I TELLING YOU ALL THIS

Well for one… you pressed on the about me page. But two, I do not believe I am your ordinary PT or Online Coach...Remember, I could have worked in Finance with my fancy title and safe 4 weeks of annual leave. Turning my life around from a skinny and passive kid who lacked confidence was for me. Now, transforming the lives of my clients is my IKIGAI and the reason for my love and affinity for health and fitness. Because of this I do believe this level of devotion and enthusiasm for my clients and their progress will always be there. Whether it is in the first 5 minutes of our initial phone consultation, our scheduled PT session or our weekly checkins, I will be there to motivate, guide and inform you… because this is my IKIGAI.
